Chester Williams – You will be missed

At the tender age of 49, 1995 rugby legend, Chester Williams has passed away.

Following a heart attack, the world-cup winning wing, who played for the Springboks and was one of the few South Africans chosen to carry the torch in the Olympic games has left the country heart-broken at the loss.

His career lasted seven years as a player (1993-2000) where after he coached the University of Western Cape as they went on to win the 2017 Varsity Shield Cup with him as head coach.

Williams was a beacon of hope for many as he brought about the beginning of transformation in rugby.
